"Qualified"

"But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise...the weak things of he world to shame the strong..." 1 Cor. 1:27

The world qualifies by accomplishments, awards and degrees. God qualifies by grace. Consider John Newton, the writer of Amazing Grace. He was given the honor of writing the most beloved song in all of history because he "qualified" as a recipient of unimaginable grace. A former slave ship captain, his sins were despicable... heartless and unimaginable. And so, when God's love and forgiveness found him, he became a model of unimaginable grace... and thus, supremely qualified to write about it. Talk about God working all things together for good!
