Spiritual Maturity
Circumstances can affect individuals differently. In a Christian’s life, this speaks to the importance of our faith and character. Challenges and trials are inevitable, but how we respond reflects our spiritual maturity. James 1:2-4 reminds us, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” Just as the egg and potato respond differently to boiling water, so too can we respond to life’s trials — by either becoming more resilient or more vulnerable. Our faith determines our response.
