When There Was Nothing on the Table

One morning, George Müller sat down for breakfast with the children in his orphanage.

There was just one problem.

There was no food.

No bread. No milk. And no money to buy any.

Still, Müller gathered the children around the empty table and prayed, thanking God for the food He would provide.

Soon, there was a knock at the door.

A baker stood outside. He said God had impressed upon him during the night that the children would need bread, so he had gotten up early and baked enough for them.

Then came another knock.

A milkman’s cart had broken down right outside the orphanage. The milk would spoil before the cart could be repaired, so he offered it to the children.

Breakfast was served. ❤️

Sometimes God provides before we even know how He is going to do it.

The empty table isn’t proof that God has forgotten you.

Sometimes it’s simply the place where you’re about to see His goodness.

“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
— Psalm 107:1

? If you’re waiting on God today, don’t lose heart.
